Study Abroad Program Coordinator Vienna

I´ve worked for more than 15 years as Program coordinator for companies such as GEO Study Abroad, Eugene (University of Oregon), CIS, Massachusetts, Minnesota State University Moorhead and Central Michigan University. I also had the opportunity to work with Classport, Florida, Ireland in the position of a ground facilitator for Study Abroad Programs in Finland, Helsinki and Norway.

I also serve as Program Director and Homestay Coordinator in Vienna. In this regard I´m responsible for working closely with American Study Abroad providers on administrative and program based responsibilities. I handle the day-to-day operations, organize cultural and academic events and activities for students and faculty, advise students on personal and cross-cultural matters, and handle students’ emergencies. In addition, my responsibilities include identifying and screening a network of homestay placements, as well as overseeing the placement and monitoring of American students with Austrian families:

  • Provide informational material and organize educational material

  • Support students and communicate with study abroad coordinators at American Universities

  • Meet with program consortia members

  • Maintain and organize media and office equipment

  • Develop regular evaluations, curriculum, excursions and events

  • Plan joint activities for students and other leisure activities, lead field trips, arrange welcome and farewell meetings

  • Prepare team meetings and academic events for the staff

  • Support visiting professors in Vienna and organize visiting faculty’s places of residence

I have an ability to connect with students of all ages and help them get the most out of their study abroad experience. I’ve lived for more than 20 years in Vienna and therefore I am well suited to accompany students during their exploration of this beautiful city. As a cultural and academic site, Vienna provides a wonderful historic backdrop during students’ pursuit of academics. My skills are used to direct their efforts toward the most productive channels and help students feel excited about learning, which inspires them to work hard. I personalize my approach with each student, recognizing that everyone has a unique learning style and skill set.
